Weapons and Loadouts in PUBG

PUBG features a wide arsenal of realistic firearms divided into categories: assault rifles, DMRs (designated marksman rifles), sniper rifles, SMGs, LMGs, shotguns, and pistols. Assault rifles are the most versatile weapons β€” the M416 is the most popular for its low recoil when fully kitted, while the AKM hits harder but kicks more. The Beryl M762 offers high damage with challenging recoil, rewarding skilled players.

DMRs like the Mini 14, SKS, and SLR fill the mid-to-long range role with semi-automatic fire. They're excellent for poking enemies at distance before pushing with an assault rifle. Bolt-action sniper rifles (Kar98k, M24, AWM) deliver devastating headshots but require precision and leave you vulnerable between shots. The AWM is the only weapon that one-shots a Level 3 helmet and is exclusively found in air drops.

Attachments dramatically affect weapon handling. Compensators reduce recoil, suppressors hide your muzzle flash and muffle sound (critical for staying hidden), and flash hiders offer a middle ground. Extended magazines increase ammo capacity, and grips reduce recoil or improve ADS speed depending on type. Scopes range from red dots and holos for close range to 3x, 4x, 6x, and 8x scopes for increasing distances. The 3x and 6x scopes are particularly versatile.

The ideal loadout pairs a fully automatic weapon (assault rifle or SMG) for close-to-medium range with a DMR or sniper for long range. SMGs like the Vector and UMP45 shred in close quarters with their fast fire rates. Shotguns are powerful in buildings during early game but fall off quickly. Always carry sufficient healing supplies, throwables (frag grenades for flushing out cover, smoke grenades for reviving teammates safely), and boost items for the late game when sustained health regeneration matters most.
