Core Activities in Diablo IV

Diablo IV's endgame opens up after completing the campaign and revolves around advancing your character through the Paragon system and pursuing increasingly powerful gear. The Paragon Board replaces the skill tree after level 50, offering a sprawling network of stat nodes, Glyphs, and Legendary nodes that let you further specialize your build. Glyphs level up through Nightmare Dungeon completion, growing more powerful over time.

Nightmare Dungeons are the primary endgame PvE activity. You activate Nightmare Sigils from your inventory to transform regular dungeons into challenging, timed experiences with affixes that modify gameplay. Higher tier sigils mean harder enemies but better rewards, including Glyph experience. These dungeons are where you'll spend the majority of your endgame time pushing your build's limits and farming for upgrades.

Helltides are periodic events where regions of the map become corrupted, spawning tougher enemies that drop Aberrant Cinders. Spend Cinders at Tortured Offerings chests scattered throughout the Helltide zone for targeted loot β€” specific chests drop specific equipment slots. The Blood Harvest is another overworld event focusing on vampiric enemies and Blood Lures that summon challenging encounters.

World Bosses spawn on a fixed schedule and require groups of players to defeat massive enemies like Ashava, Wandering Death, and Avarice for weekly reward caches. The Pit of Artificers is a timed, wave-based dungeon that tests your build's damage output and rewards materials for Masterworking your gear to its maximum potential. PvP exists in the Fields of Hatred β€” designated zones where you extract currency while fighting other players. Seasonal content adds new mechanics, storylines, and activities every few months, keeping the endgame fresh.
